Majesty

"Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty
and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all." - 1 Chronicles 29:11

There are currently 8.1 billion people living on earth. That's a lot of people! Not to God though. He created the heavens, the stars, the planets. He can number of grains of sand on the seashore and can count the hairs on 8.1 billion heads. He is all-powerful! Yet . . .

He loves us individually. He cares about us. However, many of us choose to ignore Him or to not believe in Him.

For those people, here are a few verses to consider:

"I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except fhrough me." - John 14-6:44

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them." - John 6:44

Think about it for a moment. If you are a believer in Jesus, God has chosen you! Out of 8.1 billion people! That fact should have an immediate effect on us. A humbling effect.

"Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" - Psalm 4

However, if you are not currently a believer in the God of the Bible, I strongly urge you to consider saying 'yes' to His calling. There are eternal consequences to the answer we give.

Despite God's majesty and power, He allows us to chose, even though He has already chosen us. Does that make sense? He already knows the answer we will give to His calling. We must acknowledge His majesty, repent of our sins, and humble ourselves before Him. Then we will receive in us the greatest of His amazing gifts - Himself.

Majesty - Michael W. Smith
