We humans sure can come up with lots of ideas. Sadly, not all of them are good. Like "defund the police" for example. The idea to totally or even partially defund a large group of honorable men and women who willingly risk their lives for ours, just to keep us safe, all because of a few defective humans, is stupid.
There are many other examples. Abortion for one. Let's call it "Women's Health" instead of "Murder" and we'll be just fine. Or banning sugared soda because there are too many fat people. Or banning guns because too many people are being shot.
All these things, and many more, are avoiding the really question and the real answer. The problem with all these societal issues is that no one wants to address the REAL problem. Sin.
"Well, that's 'religion' so we can't talk about that." And that's the problem right there. We The People are largely afraid of the truth. The inconvenient truth that is.
We are a nation of moral relativists. Everybody is basically their own god; defining what is right for them, in their own eyes, instead of seeking the truth and seeking God.
"I feel like a woman today so I am walking into the women's bathroom to assert my position." Dude, look in your pants! The struggle in our lives are our feelings, not the facts. It should be the opposite. We need to come to grips with the facts - God's truth. Those should overrule our feelings.
"The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" - Jeremiah 17:9
Imagine a world in which we let truth guide our way. God's Word. We actually could "defund the police" because there would be no need for them. No sin, remember? Everyone would be either male or female. No in between. There would be no need for guns because there would be no criminals or wars.
Sadly, we live in a sin-filled world where all these things abound. But one day . . . one day all will be right with the world. How do I know this? Good promised it! He cannot lie.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." - Revelation 21:4
