I watched about 10 seconds of the Super Bowl pregame hype with Dwayne Johnson and bailed out. That was enough for me. I live in a different world, I guess.
There was a time when I was all about sports. Baseball, football, basketball - I watched it all. But that was back when sports were sports and not corporations. Now, "sports" simply makes me nauseous.
There is a Bible verse that has been making an appearance in my thoughts lately. Jesus was talking with His disciples as they were discussing the End Times. Jesus told them things were going to get tough. Even crazy.
"For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.
22“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened." - Matthew 24:21-22
For the sake of The Elect. The Elect. Who are they? Quite simply, THEY are you and me - all who believe on the Lord, Jesus.
We watch the news at night, and we don't recognize our country anymore. It's not the same as it once was. And honestly, it is taking a toll on me, one of The Elect. And it should.
If you feel this way too, and The Elect is being stretched to the breaking point, can we truly be far from Jesus' return? We see Russia (Magog, as it is called in Ezekiel 38) getting ready to invade Ukraine (Gomer). No one will stop him. We'll just sit back and watch it happen. Why?
Because it is supposed happen during the End Times that "an enemy from the north" will attack Israel. Have you looked at a map of the Middle East lately? Turkey and Russia are allied. They are both to the north of Israel. They are both in The Bible!
"And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, set your face against Gog of the land of Magog (Russia), the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (Turkey, Armenia). Prophesy against him 3and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. 4I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws, and bring you out with all your army—your horses, your horsemen in full armor, and a great company armed with shields and bucklers, all brandishing their swords. 5Persia (Iran), Cush (Sudan), and Put (Libya) will accompany them, all with shields and helmets, 6as well as Gomer (Ukraine) with all its troops, and Beth-togarmah (Georgia) from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you." - Ezekiel 38:1-6
Yes, this is a sad time for the people of Ukraine, but this MUST happen, according to the Bible. Nothing can stop it. It is simply a sign to us, The Elect, that the time is drawing near for us to leave this world and all of its troubles behind. We get to see Jesus! For us, the Elect, that is a good thing. For Gog and Magog, they will wish they had never been born.
"Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." - Luke 21:28
