Knowledge of God

Imagine, if you will, a world without technology. No phones, computers, televisions, etc. What would it be like?

Heaven?

This phone I am using to write this story is convenient alright. I can sit here in my living room chair, in total darkness, and write about whatever comes to mind.

I can search the internet for pictures and Bible verses to add to my stories. Yet with all of the information and knowledge at my fingertips, something is still missing.

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” - Daniel 12:4

We have a lot of "knowledge" in the world today. We have even created "artificial intelligence" to do a lot of our thinking for us. Is that a good thing?

I have seen interviews with some of the inventors of A.I. on the news. They say we should slow down in our development of A.I. There are dangers. What could possibly go wrong?

Have you ever seen Terminator or The Matrix? These are all science fiction movies but more and more, as time goes on, the 'fiction' part it becoming blurred.

Back in Jesus' day their 'technology' was writing on a scroll. Communication was largely done by word of mouth. But what good was any of it with out "ears to hear or eyes to see?"

Jesus often spoke in parables. Why? Because only those with "ears to hear" would understand. The thing we are missing in this world is a knowledge of God. HE gives wisdom to whomever he chooses.

"Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. This is why I speak to them in parables:

“Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:

“ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.

For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’

But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it." - Matthew 13:11-17

The world we live in has a tremendous amount of knowledge, but it will never understand. Why? It's can't. Isaiah knew that. Jesus knew that.

"Blessed are your eyes because they see."
