Warm Up!

It's beginning to get a little cool up here in Central Wisconsin. It was 30° when I woke up this morning! And as I look outside, the leaves on our maple tree have almost completely fallen off. Another sign of what is to come. Winter.

Today I will be gathering kindling for the upcoming winter fireplace season. Another sign of fall - the first smoke coming out of chimneys around the neighborhood. My wife and I enjoy the changing seasons, but we also like to stay warm.

The air temperature isn't the only thing that's "growing cold." Have you seen the news lately? There is so much hatred in the world right now. It's almost unbelievable.

"At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another, ¹¹and many false prophets will arise and deceive many.

¹²Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. ¹³But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved." - Matthew 24:10-13

This morning I encourage you to persevere. Spend time with those who love you. Linger after church tomorrow and encourage your fellow believers. Love is the wood for the fire that keeps us warm. And Jesus is the spark that ignites it.
