Various Places

"There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." - Luke 21:11

That was Jesus telling His disciples what some of the signs would be before His return, and before the "end of the age."

Have we seen enough? Or do we need even MORE convincing proofs that the time of the end is right now? We're "Right at the door" as Jesus says in Matthew 24:33

I think what makes the video of this flash flood so heart wrenching is seeing people running for their lives. And knowing that most of them are now dead.

But maybe it's good to watch it. I'm sure things looked similar in Noah's day. All the people clamoring to get onto the ark after the door had already been shut. But it was too late.

The signs Jesus spoke about in Matthew 24 are everywhere in the news. Earthquakes, floods, diseases, fires, wars and rumors of wars.

My friends, if Jesus is not Lord of your life right now, get down in your knees and make it happen. Today. None of us is promised tomorrow.

Look, we are ALL sinners. No one is worthy of getting into heaven on his or her own merit. "There is no one good. No not one."

And God is just. He WILL hand out the penalty that our sin deserves, and that penalty is death. Eternal death.

"The wages of sin is death,  but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23

How desperate those people must have been. They had no idea that the force of that flood would be upon them so quickly. And that is exactly how it will be. "In the twinkling of an eye." - 1 Corinthians 15:52

Yet, people are going on about their day as if everything's normal. It's not. This is not normal!

Are YOU saved? Have you been set apart by the Holy Spirit? I hope you have. Are you born again? Jesus says that you MUST be!

"Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” - John 3:3

The good news is that there is hope to be found, in Jesus. Anyone who died during that horrible flood who knew Jesus, who was born again, is with the Lord.

Don't go through life without Jesus. Having that hope, especially in these days, is an essential life-saving decision.

Please pray for those effected by the Nepal flood. And also pray for those who witnessed the event, whether live or on video. Such a sad thing to behold.

“And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress of nations in perplexity because of the roaring of the sea and the waves, ²⁶people fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world." - Luke 21:25-26
