The Bible is literally filled with great advice for how to live a good, God-honoring life. So why do people ignore it and not read it?🤷♂️
Here's some Old Testament wisdom from King Solomon:
TRUST - Do we trust God? And do we trust Him totally and completely, with all of our hearts? Think about it.
YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING - our understanding is often flawed. Why? Because we live in a world filled with lies. There is only one truth - God and His Word.
SUBMIT - Submitting to the lordship of Jesus is one of the most difficult things for the Christian. As God once said through the prophet Isaiah, "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways." - Isaiah 55:8
That's pretty straightforward. All we have to do is obey. And that is difficult for the Christian who wants a say in what he or she believes in. And there we have it. These "conditional Christians" are making themselves out to BE a god by creating beliefs outside of those of the one TRUE God. And they are breaking the very first commandment in the process.
"You shall have no other gods before me." - Exodus 20:3
We must trust and submit and keep our own opinions to ourselves. No, that's wrong. We must eliminate ANY opinions we may have in favor of God's Word and what He says.
"In ALL our ways, submit."
Do we do that?
