I'm Not Crying

Yesterday, my church family worshipped together for the first time in months. It was great to see everyone again. Laughing, talking, loving. And then the first worship song began to play and everybody's focus changed.

We were together again, singing to the God we love. It was beautiful and I fought back tears, voice cracking amidst all the love for our Savior.

Do you have a particular worship song that hits a little deeper than the rest? One that has a special meaning or tugs deep at your heart? Maybe it depends on the day or the particular mood you're in.

I have a few. Chris Tomlin's Love Ran Red and Andrew Peterson's Is He Worthy? are up there. Amazing Grace is too and How Great Thou Art. But yesterday the song that tugged at my heart the most was Jesus, All For Jesus.

There is one part of the song that always gets me. These are the words.

For it's only in Your will that I am free
For it's only in Your will that I am free
Jesus, all for Jesus
All I am and have and ever hope to be

Think about that first line for a moment. Isn't that true? If we are not "in God's will", whose will are we in? Our own? Satan's It's hard to tell sometimes. But if we are in God's will there is only 100% pure love and adoration for our King.

It doesn't really matter what song we will be singing. One day all of God's children will be worshipping . . . together. We will sing songs together. Everyone will be singing on key. and everyone will be worshipping in God's will. Free from all the struggles we now bring with us to church. We will worship in spirit and in truth and we will look around and see our church families next to us and everything . . . EVERTHING . . . will be perfect.

"Woman," Jesus replied, "believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth." - John 4:21-24
